Since Aug. 7, more than 450 arrests have occurred in Washington, D.C., following the administration taking control of police in the city, announced by President Donald Trump. The D.C. Police Union reported significant reductions in various crimes, including robbery down 46% and carjacking down 83%.
General Pam Bondi confirmed that 76 illegal firearms have been seized from the streets during this effort.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated that 66 arrests were made across federal agencies, with the FBI involved in 41 of those arrests. The administration says that 233 of those arrests have involved unauthorized migrants, and officials in the district say that the crime enforcement focus in the country’s capital is more about immigration enforcement than crime enforcement.
