A shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas left one person dead and two others injured. The suspect, identified as Joshua Jahn, reportedly fired from a rooftop before taking his own life.
Law enforcement continues to assess the incident, including Jahn’s background and possible affiliations. In response to the event, DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin issued a statement stating that security efforts would be increased.
“In light of today’s horrific shooting that was motivated by hatred for ICE and the other unprecedented acts of violence against ICE law enforcement, including bomb threats, cars being used [as] weapons, rocks and Molotov cocktails thrown at officers, and doxing online of officers families, DHS will immediately begin increasing security at ICE facilities across the country,” she said.
