Illegal border crossings hit record low second month in row

Illegal border crossings reached a record low in March 2025, with 7,181 apprehended, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. That’s down 95% from March 2024.

Acting CBP Commissioner Pete Flores attributed the decline to dedicated agents, stating, “Their commitment on the front lines plays a vital role in securing our borders.”

President Donald Trump announced the record low and highlighted the crackdown on illegal immigration as a priority of his administration.

The White House plans to ramp up deportations and enforcement as they await more resources from Republicans in Congress.
