Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced the launch of Pride Connect, a hotline offering free legal advice and support to LGBTQIA+ individuals. Pritzker explained that the hotline aims to provide resources to combat discrimination and harassment, as well as facilitate access to housing and healthcare.

“As the only state in the nation that will provide free legal advice to protect the LGBTQ+ community, we’ll help fight ignorance with information and cruelty with compassion,” he said in a social media post. The state and philanthropic organizations support Pride Connect.

Illinois invested $250,000 in the hub, with an additional $100,000 contributed by various groups and agencies, including the Illinois Department of Human Services.
