Reports show former Deputy Sean Grayson, the man who shot and killed Sonya Massey on July 6, had a history of bullying. Records indicate Grayson was discharged from the Army for serious offenses and charged with two DUIs in 2015 and 2016.

Grayson was responding to a prowler report when he shot Massey after threatening her during a confrontation. Massey had called the police for help. Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell stated Grayson’s actions were “inexcusable” and led to his termination after Massey’s death.
