Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, who is now former President Donald Trump’s running mate, said in 2016 that he believed the former president committed sexual assault. Vance said that Trump was less credible than an accuser in a “he said, she said” scenario.

Vance is now defending Trump, a large shift from his original comments following the release of the “Access Hollywood” tape that contained audio Trump saying lewd remarks.

In October 2016, Vance posted on X, at that time Twitter, asking “What percentage of the American population has @realDonaldTrump sexually assaulted?”
