Kamala Harris said that former President Joe Biden was “fully competent to serve” another term in office during an interview on a podcast hosted by Jon Stewart. Harris acknowledged that during her 2024 presidential campaign, she could have done more to distinguish her own positions from Biden’s.
Harris suggested that the lack of a clear contrast may have affected the election outcome. While discussing Biden’s ability to lead, Harris noted that governing and campaigning require different skills and energy, and that both responsibilities are complex.
Meanwhile, Stewart expressed surprise at her defense, asking whether Biden’s governing capacity could be maintained even if his campaign energy appeared diminished.
