Vice President Kamala Harris stated she would not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin without Ukraine’s representation during an interview on Monday, Oct. 7. Harris reaffirmed that Ukraine’s voice is crucial in determining its future, signaling strong support for Ukraine’s role.
“Not bilaterally without Ukraine, no,” she told CBS’s 60 Minutes when asked about a potential meeting, emphasizing Ukraine’s importance in peace talks.
During the interview, Harris also reiterated her criticisms former President Donald Trump’s policies on Ukraine. She described them as a “surrender” to Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
