Tyler Robinson is now the primary suspect in the killing of MAGA activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Robinson was reportedly radicalized online and made niche references to video games and online memes.
Now, FBI Director Kash Patel wants to investigate some of Robinson’s Discord chats, including any individuals he might have spoken with on Discord channels around the time of the murder.

Discord is a popular voice communications app used by gamers across a wide variety of different games, especially in co-op and competitive multiplayer games where live verbal communication can provide an advantage. Outside of voice calls, the app can also be used for text chats and casual conversation.
The Washington Post revealed on Monday that Robinson had confessed to the murder of Charlie Kirk to a group of fellow gamers in a Discord chat room just hours before being apprehended by the FBI. One of the gamers in the chat room anonymously contacted and tipped off the newspaper, complete with screenshots of the chat.
“It was me…im sorry for all of this,” part of Robinson’s Discord confession reads.
Discord is cooperating with the FBI to provide a fuller picture of the suspect, and has provided a copy of the chat room’s text to law enforcement, The Washington Post added.
The confession adds to an abundance of evidence against Robinson, including similar confessions over text messages and positive DNA and fingerprint matches to evidence at the crime scene.
