Current Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens said that Vice President Kamala Harris has not spoken to him since Owens was appointed in July 2023, according to a report from NewsNation.

The previous Border Patrol chief, Raul Ortiz, also said that he did not speak to Harris during his time as chief.

This comes as Harris appears to be the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee. Immigration and the border are a hot topic issue that will likely be addressed as she prepares for the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
