Majority of Americans believe presidents should obey the courts, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds

A broad majority of Americans, 82%, believe that the president should obey federal court rulings, according to a recently released Reuters/Ipsos poll. Around 76% of Republicans support the Trump administration’s deportation efforts, despite a court order, while only 8% of Democrats agree.

The Trump administration has been accused of violating an order by continuing deportation flights amid legal challenges. Trump’s approval rating is higher than during much of his term, with 49% approval on immigration, as reported by the Reuters/Ipsos poll.
