A man named Samuel Mena Jr. attempted to set himself on fire during a pro-Palestinian rally near the White House and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police and bystanders quickly extinguished the flames, and Mena Jr. Was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The protest was part of the International Day of Action to support Palestinians in Gaza amid ongoing conflicts. The man said he was a journalist was caught on video during the act, lighting his arm on fire before police and bystanders rushed to put out the flames.
