McConnell still ‘very upset’ with Trump — ‘We haven’t spoken for quite a while’

Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., expressed that he is still “very upset” with Donald Trump regarding the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incident. McConnell believes that Trump is “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.”

The events of Jan. 6, will be debated for decades, say some historians. McConnell stated that pardoning those convicted from the incident is a mistake. McConnell also stated that the events of Jan. 6 were “an insurrection.” McConnell was also one of only a few Republican senators who stood against Pete Hegseth’s confirmation as defense secretary.
