Most Israelis say Netanyahu should not run for office again

A slim majority of Israelis (52%) say that Israeli Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu should not run for office again. 41% of Israelis in the survey said that Netanyahu should run again.

Netanyahu has presided over a controversial administration and has been accused of prolonging the Israel-Hamas war in order to remain in power.

Other polls suggest that Netanyahu has less than one-third popular support among the Israeli public. Calls for early elections are also increasing as anti-Netanyahu protests continue to spread.

The domestic turbulence comes as Israel itself is increasingly isolated on the international stage and condemned as a pariah state over its actions in Gaza. United Nations officials have determined that those actions amount to genocide.
