Murkowski says her colleagues are afraid of Trump

Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, urged Congress to oppose President Donald Trump’s actions regarding funding cuts and federal worker firings, stating that it violates laws like the Budget Act and the Impoundment Act. Murkowski claimed her Republican peers fear backlash from Trump and his supporters, leading to a lack of outspoken criticism against him.

Murkowski mentioned that over 1,000 constituents expressed concerns about funding cuts led by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

She criticized Trump’s remarks on Ukraine, saying they were unfortunate, and emphasized that Russia is the aggressor in the conflict.
