Neuralink has received “breakthrough device” clearance from the FDA for its Blindsight implant, which offers priority FDA review but does not confirm a cure for blindness at this time.
Blindsight is a technology designed to help restore limited vision using microelectrode arrays embedded in the visual cortex. Elon Musk claimed that Blindsight could enable those who are blind to see, although experts warn that such claims are premature. Neuralink has not yet released details into when they may begin human trials.
