A letter from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce to Tim Walz resurfaced, urging him to correct a false claim about an award from his 2006 congressional campaign. Barry L. Kennedy, then-president of the chamber, confirmed Walz never received the award, requesting its removal from his campaign website.
Walz’s campaign clarified he was awarded by the Nebraska Junior Chamber of Commerce, also known as the Nebraska Jaycees, not the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce. The former head of the chamber commented, saying he had no idea how the 2006 letter resurfaced.
