New York State Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs said Thursday that he will not endorse New York State Assemblyman and Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani to serve as the next mayor of New York City. Jacobs explained that he strongly disagrees with several of Mamdani’s positions, specifically on income inequality, Israel and cost-of-living issues.
Jacobs also expressed broader concerns about the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) as a whole. Mamdani is a member of the DSA and has received strong support from them.
