New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is considering a bid to lead Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, stating she has had “a lot of outreach from colleagues.” Ocasio-Cortez expressed interest in replacing Maryland Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin as the highest-ranking Democrat on the committee.

If she proceeds, Ocasio-Cortez will compete against Virginia Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly, who has announced his intention to run for the position.

Connolly has more experience on Oversight, he served on the panel for the 16 years he’s been in Congress.
