The chair of a Florida school board has walked back comments mocking the death of WWE star Hulk Hogan. Sarah Rockwell, who heads the Alachua County school board, posted “Oh, did Hulk die? I didn’t even know. Good. One less MAGA in the world,” on social media following the wrestling star’s death on Thursday, July 24.
After her comments went viral on social media, she apologized and deleted a series of posts. Rockwell said she never has and never will “wish harm on anyone regardless of whether we share political views.”
County Republicans have since called for her to step down from her position as school board chair, saying her comments violated the board’s code of ethical conduct.
