Palestinian athletes were met with cheers and presents as they arrived for the Paris Olympic Games on Thursday, July 25.
According to the athletes, they hope their presence with represent unity as the Israel-Hamas war continues, having already claimed over 39,000 Palestinian lives.
At the airport the Palestinian athletes were met with chants of “free Palestine.” The Palestinian Olympic Committee has also asked for Israel to be banned from the Games
This comes as Israeli Olympic athletes face safety concerns and have increased Israeli security personnel after plots to attack them at the Games were revealed.
