Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, D, supports the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s decision to not count certain mail-in ballots, affirming a ruling that deemed them incorrect. The high court ruled 4-3 that ballots with undated or incorrectly dated envelopes cannot be counted.
Shapiro emphasized the importance of adhering to election laws, stating that ignoring them harms public faith in the electoral process. A number of counties in the state initially defied the court’s guidance and counted the ballots.
