People with congestive heart failure, undergoing treatment for schizophrenia or having a history of paraphilic disorders can no longer receive a medical waiver to join the military, according to new rules from the Pentagon. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signed guidance updating a list of conditions disqualifying potential recruits from military service.

Hegseth stated that America’s warfighters must be physically and mentally capable of performing their duties in the harshest of conditions.
