Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-GA, responded to President Donald Trump’s recent comments, in which he called her a “traitor” over their disagreement regarding the release of the Epstein files. Greene noted that she won her first election without Trump’s endorsement and said she never felt obligated to him.
“I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for five, no, actually, six years for, and I gave him my loyalty for free,” she said. Greene has worked alongside members of both parties to advocate for the release of the files through the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
Trump withdrew his endorsement of Greene, describing her as “wacky” and repeating his “traitor” label. Greene said that sort of language may encourage threats against her and her family.
