Sen. Susan Collins was met with loud protests during a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Maine, where hundreds of demonstrators gathered to voice their opposition. The crowd chanted phrases like “Shame,” disrupting the event and preventing the Republican senator from delivering her remarks.

Protesters cited concerns over recent Medicare funding decisions and the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Gaza as reasons for their demonstration. After the event, Collins spoke briefly with local outlets WSCH/WLBZ, acknowledging the protest and noting that such disruptions have become more frequent in today’s political climate.

“It was interesting to see how much misinformation they had,” she said.
