Rand Paul argues Trump tariffs are based on ‘fallacy’ that trades rip off US

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., criticized Trump’s tariff policies, arguing that they are based on the “fallacy” that trades rip off the U.S. Paul introduced a resolution with Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., to cancel Trump’s emergency declaration used to impose tariffs on Canada.

Despite his criticisms against the president, Paul said he still supports Trump, but disagrees with the tariffs and is willing to fight against them. He says he has heard from other Republicans who are against the tariffs in private.
