Georgia Republican Rep. Mike Collins announced he will join the Republican primary race against Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in 2026. Collins, who was elected to his role in 2023, made the announcement on Monday.

During his announcement, Collins asserted that “Jon Ossoff must go,” expressing doubts about Ossoff’s commitment to Georgia. Collins said he plans to support President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda and promote Republican values.

An opposing campaign labeled Collins as a “MAGA extremist,” claiming he is out of touch with Georgia voters. Recent polling puts Ossoff ahead of both Collins and Republican Rep. Buddy Carter, who is also running for the spot. However, about 13% said they were still unsure who they would vote for.
