Ohio Governor Mike DeWine criticized former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance’s comments about Haitian migrants. The republican governor said they are damaging to hard-working families in Springfield and “need to stop.”
“So those comments are — about eating dogs and things, they’re very hurtful,” he said.
DeWine emphasized that Haitian immigrants are legal workers who contributing positively to the community, contrary to false claims.
He urged Trump and Vance to discuss immigration truthfully, avoiding misinformation that harms vulnerable groups.
