On Oct. 28, right-wing German activist Naomi Seibt, 25, filed for asylum in the United States. Seibt expressed fears that German authorities would arrest her for her social media posts, and also said that she’d received death threats “from Antifa” in Germany.

Her asylum claim received the support of U.S. billionaire and Trump ally Elon Musk, who Seibt says she has a friendly personal relationship with. Seibt and Musk reportedly message one another regularly on social media, where Seibt privately shares her concerns about Germany.

Seibt also proclaimed her support for a far-right German political party, AfD, that Musk has publicly endorsed.

Seibt is a climate change skeptic and a critic of German immigration policies. She has called herself “the anti-Greta Thunberg.”

Thunberg, 22, is a widely known climate change and human rights activist from Sweden, known most recently for her participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza.
