Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the State Department is reviewing the visa status of foreign nationals involved in the anti-Israel protest at Columbia University. The protest led to arrests and injuries, with at least 80 individuals detained by New York police after a demonstration organized by Columbia University Apartheid Divest.

Columbia University condemned the violence and antisemitism during the protest and reported that protesters injured two security officers.

Rubio stated, ‘Pro-Hamas thugs are no longer welcome in our great nation,’ directing focus on potential visa penalties for participants.
