Marco Rubio stated that the U.S. is not discussing the deportation of Gazans, stating, “There’s no deportation.”
Rubio reported that humanitarian aid to Gaza is expected to increase over the coming days and weeks as Israel permits more aid deliveries after a lengthy blockade.
The U.S. has reached out to countries about “voluntary” relocation of Palestinians, which Rubio emphasized would be individual decisions, not forced moves. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., questioned the nature of the decisions under dire conditions in Gaza, highlighting the crisis as food and water scarcity persists.
