Russian election interference efforts targeting Harris campaign, Microsoft finds

Microsoft reported that Russian operatives are intensifying attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. The operatives fake videos promoting “outlandish conspiracy theories” to create US political and racial divisions. At least two groups closely tied to the Kremlin are allegedly behind the videos.
One fake video, viewed millions of times, claimed to show Harris supporters attacking a Donald Trump rally attendee. Another false video alleged that Harris paralyzed a young girl in a 2011 hit-and-run incident.

Microsoft announced its findings two weeks after the U.S. Department of Justice took down 30 websites tied to election misinformation.
