On Oct. 9, Rutgers University history professor Dr. Mark Bray tried to flee the United States with his family to seek safety in Spain. Bray is an expert on anti-fascist groups and terrorism who teaches at the university.
He’s become the latest victim of a torrent of death threats against himself and his family after a Turning Point USA Rutgers chapter launched an online petition demanding his removal from the school.

At least one of those threats indicated that a would-be shooter planned to assassinate him during class with all of his students present in the room, forcing the professor to move to online classes instead of in-person instruction to protect the safety of Rutgers students.
Dr. Bray and his family were stopped at Newark airport and told that their reservations had been canceled when they tried to flee for Spain on Oct. 9. The Associated Press reports that Dr. Bray and his family are still hoping to escape via Newark as soon as possible.
The Rutgers chapter of Turning Point USA now says it does not support the harassment or “doxxing”— the publishing of sensitive information, including home and family addresses, for the purposes of harassing, threatening or committing violence against someone or their family — of Dr. Bray or of anyone else, in what appears to be an effort to defuse the situation and discourage any violence.
