The Secret Service denied reports that it diverted resources from protecting former President Donald Trump to First Lady Jill Biden. A representative stated protection models do not function that way. The Chief of Communications for the Secret Service Anthony Guglielmi refuted claims of resource diversion.

Trump narrowly avoided an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, July 13. A bullet grazed the former president’s ear while he was speaking. The shooter also killed one other person and injured two others in the crowd.
