Seven Chinese nationals are charged in a multimillion-dollar marijuana trafficking operation across the U.S. Northeast, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The group allegedly smuggled individuals into the U.S. to work in marijuana grow houses, withholding their passports until debts were paid, as stated by the DOJ.

During police raids, law enforcement found over $270,000 in cash and large quantities of marijuana, according to federal agents. The defendants include Jianxiong Chen and Yanrong Zhu, with Jianxiong Chen facing multiple charges, including money laundering.
