Signal chat shows isolationist Vance as Trump flexes control abroad

Donald Trump issued Executive Order 14175 to label the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, aiming to eliminate their operations, according to Trump’s statement. The Trump administration aims to target the Houthis using military action, maintaining that they threaten vital shipping routes in the Red Sea.

Vice President JD Vance expressed doubt regarding President Donald Trump’s military strikes against the Houthis in Yemen, stating, “I think we are making a mistake.” The Defense Department confirmed ongoing strikes against Houthi leadership, and emphasized the campaign’s commitment to restoring freedom of navigation. Some senior Republican lawmakers are also expressing concern over whether Vance is trying to block or obstruct the U.S. campaign in Yemen, according to NBC News.
