Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer launched a whistleblower tip line for reporting “abuses of power” in the Trump administration on Feb. 10. The tip line seeks to engage “brave public servants” to expose misconduct.

Schumer’s initiative faced backlash as conservatives used the tip line to report alleged abuses by Democrats, leading to over 33,000 responses mocking him.

X and Tesla owner Elon Musk referred to the reactions to Schumer’s tip line as “comedy gold” and suggested that Schumer has committed crimes, highlighting the negative reception of the initiative.

Schumer and Governmental Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gary Peters emphasized the importance of whistleblowers in government oversight and accountability in their communications.
