At least two downtown St. Paul hotels suspended operations and canceled reservations for all guests, including federal agents, starting Sunday. The Intercontinental St. Paul Riverfront and DoubleTree St. Paul Downtown both sent letters to guests cancelling reservations due to safety concerns surrounding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and related protests.
“Please know that your safety and well-being will always be our top priority,” said a letter distributed to guests of the DoubleTree. “We are taking this step out of care for you, our team members, and the surrounding community.”

A front desk manager at the DoubleTree, who spoke to FOX 9 in Minneapolis, said the hotel had received threats for providing rooms to Department of Homeland Security agents. They ultimately decided to close the hotel to protect staff members.
Protestors in the Twin Cities have also targeted hotels housing federal agents by making loud noise in the streets, attempting to disrupt those sleeping inside.
