State Department cuts DEI-based performance evaluations

The Department of State said it eliminated performance evaluations based on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility, as reported by the Department of Government Efficiency on Monday, April 7. DOGE reported that under the Biden administration, 20% of foreign service officers’ performance evaluations were based on DEI.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the reforms of the Biden administration’s DEI policies “important and historic,” promising evaluations based on true merit.

DOGE stated that eliminating DEIA requirements aligns with President Donald Trump’s executive orders and has saved approximately $140 billion.
