Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., clashed with Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., over claims that Elon Musk made a gesture linked to Adolf Hitler during a rally for President Donald Trump. Stefanik defended her campaign ad against accusations of promoting the antisemitic “Great Replacement” theory.
During her confirmation hearing, Murphy questioned Stefanik about Elon Musk’s alleged Nazi salute, claiming it was celebrated by white supremacist groups and neo-Nazi groups.
She firmly rejected the allegation, stating, “That is simply not the case.”
“No, Elon Musk did not do those salutes,” Stefanik said.
The New York lawmaker emphasized the need for a strong U.S. stance against antisemitism and highlighted Trump’s support for the Jewish community.
Musk dismissed the accusations as a tired attack from the left, saying they need better dirty tricks.
