The executive director of Campus Operations for the Irving Independent School District, Reny Lizardo, has resigned following an undercover video release, according to the school district. The video shows Lizardo suggesting illegal actions regarding a child’s birth certificate to circumvent Texas law on transgender athletes.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for Lizardo to be fired and investigated after the video surfaced.
The Save Women’s Sports Act was passed in June 2023. It prohibits transgender athletes from competing in girls’ and women’s sports, according to state law.
