The Federal Communications Commission is expediting a deal allowing George Soros’ acquisition of over 200 U.S. radio stations, despite concerns from Commissioner Brendan Carr about foreign ownership rules.
Carr stated this decision is unprecedented as it bypasses the national security review process typically required for foreign ownership transactions.
The FCC’s vote was partisan, with three Democrats supporting the move and two Republicans opposing it. Rep. Nick Langworthy, R-N.Y. stated that he was “extremely alarmed” that the purchase was approved.
