A new report from U.S. Capitol Police shows a 57% jump in threats investigated by the agency last year. It’s the third consecutive year threats have risen, and the largest jump in years.

Capitol Police reported nearly 15,000 investigations last year. Officials said the rise stems partly from a false sense of anonymity on online platforms and increased reporting through outreach with the Congressional Community in recent months.
