Damian Williams, who previously served as the Manhattan U.S. attorney, is departing from Paul Weiss to join Jenner & Block, with the move announced on Friday, June 6. Williams returned to Paul Weiss five months ago following the firm’s March agreement with President Donald Trump, which led to the withdrawal of an executive order targeting it.

At Jenner & Block, Williams will co-chair the firm’s Litigation Department and praised the firm in a press release as one that “fearlessly advocates for its clients.”

Williams’s departure follows several other prominent lawyers leaving Paul Weiss, which has faced criticism for its agreement with the Trump administration.
