Former President Donald Trump appeared to believe he still had “foreign policy powers” after leaving the White House, according to author Ramin Setoodeh, who interviewed the former president at length for a new book. Setoodeh claimed Trump maintained the belief in possessing foreign policy influence during their interactions.

Setoodeh revealed details of his six interviews with Trump post-2021, noting instances where Trump acted as if he still held presidential powers. Trump mentioned dealing with Afghanistan despite not having authority.

Ramin Setoodeh also said Trump has “severe memory issues.”
