A soccer match between Argentina and Puerto Rico, initially slated for Monday, October 13, at Chicago’s Soldier Field, is being moved because of unrest linked to the city’s immigration crackdown, according to reports. The game will now take place at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Chicago Park District spokesman Luca Serra stated that the game was canceled in Chicago due to low ticket sales. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has deployed the National Guard to the city amid intensifying demonstrations over immigration policy.

The decision also comes after an Argentine Football Association official confirmed the relocation, pointing to safety concerns surrounding protests in Chicago. The match is part of Argentina’s 2026 World Cup build-up.
