President Donald Trump wanted to counter scrutiny about his age and stamina, so aides said he is “beefing up” appearances and adding additional meetings and events to his public schedule, according to several reports.
Immediate effects include the nightly distribution being sent out to the media. Aides started including additional meetings that would not typically appear on the public schedule. Aides said the new schedule aims to better reflect jam-packed days.

The White House’s private week showed 61 phone calls and 67 meetings, with days starting at 7:15 a.m. and stretching past 7 p.m., including closed-door sessions with Cabinet officials and executives during the week of Jan. 5.
Trump also addressed claims that he had fallen asleep during cabinet meetings, saying they “got pretty boring.”
