Trump dismisses Epstein file release push as ‘Democrat hoax’

Following bipartisan efforts to release the Epstein files, President Donald Trump called the move a “Democrat hoax.” “But it’s really a Democrat hoax, because they’re trying to get people to talk about something that’s totally irrelevant to the success we’ve had as a nation since I’ve been president,” he said.

The president’s comments came after the victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein joined House members at a press conference calling for transparency and the full release of files from the Department of Justice.

During Trump’s 2024 campaign run, he promised to release the Epstein files but has since downplayed their importance.
