The Trump administration has dropped or paused federal cases against at least 17 corporations that donated to its inaugural fund, according to Public Citizen’s analysis of Federal Election Commission filings. These corporations donated a total of $50 million to Trump’s inaugural committee and include Bank of America and Apple.

Public Citizen’s analysis suggests that these donations may have been aimed at gaining favor with the administration, with the implication that companies are trying to buy goodwill.

Donations from companies like Intuit and Apple have led to favorable actions from the Trump administration.
