President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, urging Democratic governors and mayors to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. The president also said he asked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to cooperate with federal law enforcement to arrest people with active warrants.

Walz said state corrections officials were already cooperating.

He said he’s sending White House border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti, raising further questions about immigration enforcement activities in the state.

On a wider scale, Trump also urged Congress to pass legislation to end sanctuary cities, claiming this would address chaos linked to illegal immigration policies.
